2.1 LATAR BELAKANG

Program gelada di Universitas Telkom berguna agar para Mahasiwa-Mahasiswi mendapatkan pengalaman dalam lingkungan kerja secara langung dan untuk melengkapi agenda perkuliahan di Universitas Telkom.

FTTB merupakan arsitektur fiber optik  yang dipangakan ke bangunan-bangunan seperti kantor, tempat tinggal dan yang kemudian didistribusikan ke tiap-tiap ruangan.

3. FTTN ( Fiber To The Node )

FTTN merupakan arsitektur fiber optik yang dimana dipasang sampai pada suatu titik pendistribusian (kabinet) kabel fiber optik lagi.

4. FTTC ( Fiber To The Curb )

FTTC mempunyai kemiripan dengan FTTN namun dengan jarak antar pendistribusian dengan pelanggan lebih dekat, sekitar 300m.

BAB IV

PELAKSANAAN GELADI

4.1 RENCANA KEGIATAN

1. Memenuhi permintaan STO Telkom dalam penambahan modul fiber optik
2. Melakukan pembaharuan data project telkom

4.2 PELAKSANAAN

Geladi tahun 2015 Universitas Telkom dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1 Juni – 10 Juni 2015 yang bertempat di Telkom Divisi Akses Jateng Utara. Pelaksanaan gelada selama 6 minggu di Telkom Divisi Access adalah sebagai berikut :

Minggu Pertama

Pelaksanaan geladi di minggu pertama adalah adanya pengenalan PT Telkom sendiri dan pembagian divisi-divisi di Telkom Divisi Regional IV yang bertempat di Jalan Pahlawan semarang.

Di hari kedua, peserta gelada sudah berada di masing-masing divisi kerja dan penulis sudah ditempatkan di Telkom Divisi Access Semarang dan kegiatan di hari kedua adalah pemagian divisi-divisi lagi serta pengenalan tiap-tiap divisi.

Pada hari ketiga, kegiatan gelada hanya berlangsung dengan adanya pengenalan Fiber Optik dan cara instalasi kabel fiber di lingkungan luar.

Minggu Kedua

Pada minggu ketiga tidak ada aktifitas geladi dikarenakan manager yang memegang peserta gelada mempunyai tugas di luar kota selama seminggu penuh. Kegiatan gelada diisi dengan pencarian materi geladi.

Minggu Ketiga

Minggu ketiga geladi berisi kegiatan seperti pemberesan barang-barang  dan peralatan fiber optik yang berada di kabinet dan kemudian di hari setelahnya peserta geladi pergi ke STO Telkom di Ungaran, Ambarawa dan Pringapus untuk pemasangan modul baru. Peserta yang dipilih untuk melakukan kerja lapangan dipilih secara bergantian.

Minggu Keempat

Kegiatan gelada di minggu ketiga berisi dengan pengenalan fiber optik dan FTTH ( Fiber To The Home ) serta FTTB ( Fiber To The Building ) kepada Mahasiswa – Mahasiswi Teknik arsitektur di Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata ( UNIKA ) Semarang.

Minggu Kelima

Minggu kelima gelada diisi dengan kegiatan pemasangan computer server di bagian pelatihan fiber optik di Telkom Divisi Access Regional IV. dan melakukan penggantian modul-modul dengan yang baru di Telkom Maintenance Service Center ( MSC ) Semarang.

Minggu Keenam

Di minggu keenam geladi, penulis dimintakan tolong oleh Manager Optima untuk membantu pengecekan-pengecekan dan pembaharuan berkas-berkas selama tiga hari di hari terakhir dikarenakan adanya deadline. Data-data yang berada di server di cek kebenarannya berdasarkan RAB dan pemetaan arsitektur fiber optik yang terdapat di compute baik di perbaharui datanya maupun menambah data baru.

4.3 HASIL

Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu permintaan di STO-STO Telkom akan modul baru dipenuhi. Modul disini berguna seperti penambaha terminal atau port fiber untuk pelanggan

Dan hasil pembaharuan data project dapat diselesaikan, pembaharuan data project dilihat dari kebenaran antar RAB dan gambar dari rencana arsitektur fiber optik di bangunan pemohon.

PENUTUP

5.1 KESIMPULAN

Kesimpulan dari adanya kegiatan geladi yaitu atmosfir dari lingkungan kerja amat sanggat berbeda dengan atmosfir dr lingkungan kampus. Dan para peserta geladi diharapkan agar dapat beradaptasi dengan lingkungan ini karena di masa mendatang semua akan terjun ke dunia kerja yang asli.

Kerja sama antar rekan kerja dalam dunia kerja sangatlah penting karena tiap-tiap orang akan memiliki tanggung jawab masing-masing .

5.2 SARAN

Untuk peserta Geladi

Peserta gelada diharapkan untuk secara sungguh-sungguh dalam melaksanakan program gelada dengan lebih aktif dalam pekerjaannya karena pengalaman ini sangatlah penting.

Untuk PT. Telkom

Diharapkan untuk memaksimalkan program gelada agar  para peserta geladi mendapatkan pengalaman dunia kerja sehingga dapat menggunakan pengalaman tersebut di dunia kerja mendatang.

Untuk Akademik

Komunikasi antar akademik dengan tempat geladi diharapka lebih baik dikarenakan pada tempat gelada di semarang tepatnya di Telkom Divisi Regional IV mendapatkan sedikit perubahan penempatan peserta seperti contohnya pada peserta yang seharusnya berlokasi di kantor divisi regional malah berpindah ke Telkom witel.
